Fluorescent Floor Lamp

There are many different floor lamps, such as a fluorescent floor lamp, that you can choose from if you are interested in this form of lighting to brighten up a space.

Many people are familiar with the old school ceiling fluorescent lights but are unaware that this type of light can also be designed to stand freely on the ground.

Fluorescent floor lamp products are available in different construction, such as in a crystal floor lamp, but generally what you will find is they are in the shape of a short or long tube, although this is quickly changing.  Fluorescent light is a gas-discharge lamp that utilizes electricity to stimulate mercury vapor.  This in turn creates ultraviolet light, which then leads to phosphor to fluoresce, resulting in illumination. Compared to other types of lighting, such as incandescent lamps, fluorescents use energy more efficiently and are often cost friendly.

In addition to being energy and money saving, this style of light is also now available in different wattages and simulations, similar to incandescent bulbs, which means it can make the room brighter or give it a softer feel.  This means, for example, that they will work just fine in a crystal floor lamp, arch floor lamp, or any other lamp.

It will allow for more vivid colors, sharper detail and provides a better contrast for reading.  All of this helps to reduce eye strain, making it easier for you to see without having to struggle.

Fluorescent Floor Lamp - Better Visibility

Due to the fact that it provides you with better overall visibility, it should come as no surprise that fluorescent floor lamp lights are great for spaces where illumination is very important, such as rooms where you enjoy reading or in areas where there are no ceiling fixtures.  You can move the lamps as you see fit to provide the best brightness or to create the perfect look.

What if the fluorescent floor tubes don’t match your decor?  No problem, instead of obtaining a floor lamp with tubes, you can purchase lamps that are equipped or are designed for handling compact fluorescent lights.  These are small like traditional round bulbs but they have a swirly shape.  They will also help you save on energy, have a longer life than a traditional bulbt.  Best of all, they can be placed in a variety of  light fixtures, including contemporary, modern, antique or even a crystal floor lamp to name a few.

A standard fluorescent floor lamp is also available in different colors, so if you want to make a room more interesting with the lights you choose, you may want to consider something a little out of the ordinary and select a fixture that will provide you will illumination that is fun and adds to the atmosphere you are attempting to create.

To give you an idea of good places to include these lights, floor fluorescents tend to look great in eccentric, eclectic, space, futuristic and modern themed rooms. Or, try one in a crystal floor lamp to create a very neat affect.
